Corporate Personhood aka Legal Personality – Another Old Blog

June 29th, 2010

Corporations should never have been given the rights of an individual. This is a concept called Legal Personality that began in the 19th century. It is the root of the planet’s “troubles.” Now, through subservient governments, corporations are taking away the rights of real individuals – ironic, and sad. The people must take back our planet on behalf of the poor and the other species with whom we share it, species who sustain us, even if it means sitting down in front of tanks, which appears to be where this is going. I am advocating peaceful civil protest here, not window breaking and car burning, until the public finally “get it.”

Update for today: The Occupy Movement has come along since this blog. It is a good start that is much maligned. The protesters are beginning to understand the root of their powerlessness. One criticism: focus on the root cause of every specific genuine complaint – incredibly rich, “immortal” corporations with the rights of humans, the top carnivores in our threatened worldwide habitat.
